Born in Oyo State as the first child of his parents, Olaniyi Afonja Sanyeri had his formal education at St. Michael Primary School, Oke-Ibo, Oyo State and Durbar Grammar School, Oyo Town, Oyo State where he completed his secondary school education.
Olaniyi Afonja Sanyeri acting career started in 1992, after joining a theatre group introduced to him by a friend. In 1996, Olaniyi relocated to Lagos State to further his career and has since starred in several Yoruba films.
Olaniyi Afonja Sanyeri, has, in 10 years, successfully become one of the most sought-after comedian for Yoruba movie roles.
Though the ‘Okola actor has a career spanning 23-years, the actor hit the limelight after playing a lead role with his buddy, Adekola Tijani in the hit comedy flick, ‘Muniru ati Ambali,’ in 2007.
He further became the toast of directors for playing the role of a fool when he starred in ‘Opa Kan,’ which featured Odunlade Adekola and Adekola Tijani.
